She is currently a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the process of applying for full clinical licensure (LCSW).
As a clinician, Brittany takes a trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally responsive approach to her practice. Brittany is passionate about supporting underserved and historically oppressed communities with an understanding of the impact of systemic issues on well-being.
In her work, she has served diverse communities of individuals, couples, and families, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Latine, migrant, Medicaid, pediatric/adolescent, and adult populations. She has worked in outpatient community mental health, integrated behavioral healthcare, and an inpatient/residential eating disorder treatment center. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, PTSD and trauma, eating disorders, justice involvement (probation, pretrial, detention), and some substance use disorders. She has also supported clients in self-love and self-confidence work, behavior changes, and processing and healing from deep inner wounds.
Modalities she may utilize in therapy include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), family-based therapy (FBT), and emotionally focused family therapy (EFFT). She has also been trained in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) to support clients with trauma/PTSD.
When working with clients, Brittany takes a collaborative approach where the client is the expert in their life and the therapist and client are a team working together toward the client’s goals. She aims to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where a client can feel comfortable, seen, and heard. Brittany has been described as genuine, caring, empathetic, warm, kind, and chill.
Outside of work, Brittany enjoys spending time in community with her family, friends, and two dogs. She also enjoys hiking, nature, traveling, reading, learning, museums, trying new foods, and watching movies or TV.
